Health Information Management Degree Program


The Health Information Management degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Lincoln College of New England’s Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree program in Health Information Management is available both on campus and online. This program is designed to prepare students to become knowledgeable and skilled in computerized health information systems and the related procedures. Students learn to design and implement a computerized patient record (CPR) system. Information systems security and data confidentiality as required in hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory and other health care facilities are emphasized.

Advancements in technology in health care have created opportunities in healthcare software design and maintenance, electronic health records management, documentation specialists, privacy and security of medical information, and reimbursement as well as medical coding and billing for the Health Information Management graduate.  Health Information Management is a field of interest to those interested in medicine, technology and the business of medicine without involvement in direct patient care.
