Lincoln College of New England (LCNE), a postsecondary education institution focused on preparing career-ready students, celebrated a 50-year tradition of student-centered academics in 2016.  Since 1966, when the school was founded as Briarwood College, LCNE has prided itself on offering courses and academic majors that prepare students to begin their careers as soon as possible.

“At LCNE, our students discover and appreciate the benefits of a college community that feels like family,” says LCNE President Denise Lewicki.  “From the students to the professors to all of us on the LCNE staff, this campus is our home.  Here, we all know each other by first name.  Students know that their professors, classmates, and LCNE alumni will back them up if they struggle with an assignment or need assistance in their job search.”

At a September celebration of the college’s golden anniversary, the campus Assembly Hall was officially named in honor of President Emeritus Dr. Richard Rausch.  Rausch served as College President from 1994 to 2003 and was the first Executive Director of the Regional Educational Services Center through Unified Effort (RESCUE), a 19-town cooperative education program serving Western Connecticut.

A Half-Century Tradition of Academic Excellence

The college offers Bachelor’s Degrees, Associate Degrees, and Certificate programs designed to help students begin their careers immediately after graduation.  Programs are offered through a mix of on-campus courses and online study, and include studies in fields like Human Services, Communication, Criminal Justice, Business, and Mortuary Science.

From its early days as a women’s secretarial school to its present-day array of career paths available to graduates, this picturesque college at the foot of Mount Southington has a number of reasons to be proud of its legacy.  Explore LCNE’s academic programs, or call (844) 215-4069 to schedule a personal tour of New England’s best-kept academic secrets!
