In addition to possessing the specialized skills of a chair-side assistant, the dental administrative assistant is capable of managing appointment scheduling, records, written communication, preventive programs, accounts receivable, dental insurance, expenses, and disbursements. You will be able to work in private dental offices, managed care organizations, long-term care facilities, federal, state and municipal health facilities.

Dental Administrative Assistant Career Outlook
According to the US Department of Labor, employment opportunities for dental assistants are expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2010.

Population growth and greater retention of natural teeth by middle-aged and older people will fuel demand for dental services.

In addition, as dentists’ workloads increase, they are expected to hire more assistants to perform routine tasks so that they may devote more time to skilled procedures.
