Alumni and FriendsLincoln College of New England's Southington Campus Alumni Association, which includes in its eligibility for membership all those who have ever attended the Southington Campus (Formerly Briarwood College), is headed by a Board of Governors and officers elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting. The Board, which is open to all members, meets quarterly to plan and promote activities of social and general interest and of service to the College Community, including activities to support the Friends of Briarwood College Foundation in its efforts to raise funds for student scholarships. From the founding of the Briarwood Secretarial School in Bristol, CT in 1966, later to be named the Briarwood School for Women, to the enactment of legislation by the Connecticut General Assembly and signed by Governor Ella Grasso in 1979 establishing Briarwood College, over 5000 graduates have earned the right to be named an alumna or alumnus. Equipped with the knowledge and expertise gained from their educational and personal experiences while students, our alumni continue to enhance their careers and contribute to their communities wherever they reside: in Connecticut, in other states, and in some cases, other regions of the world. Avenues of communication, information, and news of interest to the alumni are available in this Alumni Website. Address your news items to: Dr. Rausch, President Emeritus, Lincoln College of New England, 2279 Mount Vernon Road, Southington, CT 06489 or E-mail: rauschd@briarwood.edu.
